On October 19, Zhang Jinhua, President of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (China-SAE) and Executive Director of the National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (CICV), officially released the “Global Top 10 ICV Technology Trends” on behalf of the WICV 2024 at the Closing Ceremony.
As the key highlight of the conference, the “Global Top 10 ICV Technology Trends” garnered wide attention from governments and industry peers both domestically and internationally. Commissioned by the conference, the China-SAE has mobilized over 200 experts worldwide to engage in the effort, involving government agencies, industry organizations, OEMs, and ICT companies. Since this August, through a series of processes including horizon scanning, global collection and nominations, expert reviews and recommendations, as well as conference deliberations, the most influential “Global Top 10 ICV Technology Trends” have been selected from a list of 42 ICV innovative applications and cutting-edge technologies projected for the next 5-10 years.
The continuous breakthroughs in next-generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, new computing, and new communications are driving ICVs to serve as essential bridges and core nodes in smart energy, transportation, and cities. The release of the “Global Top 10 ICV Technology Trends” will provide important guidance for the global automotive industry in navigating technological transformation and seizing opportunities for innovation breakthroughs. The ICV industry is expected to jointly promote the establishment of a new collaborative development ecosystem that features openness, inclusiveness, mutual benefit, interdependence and coexistence.
